Inter School Choral Speaking Competition – Recital Rumble 2024

At Ahlcon International School, creativity and collaboration took center stage at the recently hosted an event – Inter School Choral Speaking Competition, “Recital Rumble 2024” organized by the Foundation Stage on Friday, 30^th August 2024. This unique event showcased the incredible talent and enthusiasm of young students from across the region, all united in their passion for poetry and performance.

The competition featured two exciting categories. In ‘Navoday,’ Nursery and Prep students showcased their Hindi rhymes with a focus on Sustainable Development Goals related to environmental conservation. The second event, ‘Nature’s Symphony,’ highlighted performances by Classes I and II, emphasizing themes of responsible consumption and climate action through English rhymes. One of the standout features of the competition was the innovative use of body percussion. This creative addition not only added a unique and dynamic rhythm to the recitations but also showcased the students’ ability to integrate creative expression into their performances.

The competition had an innovative format, with participant schools submitting their entries online. Each school had to prepare and submit a video performance. From these submissions, the top five entries were selected to participate in the final round held at the school on Friday, August 30, 2024. The creativity was further enhanced by allowing participants to include self-composed poems, showcasing their originality and innovative thinking.

The Final event was a grand affair, beginning with the ceremonial lighting of the diya, symbolizing knowledge and wisdom. The event began with a warm and welcoming address from the Headmistress, Foundation Stage, Ms. Pooja Shandilya. She set the tone for the day by expressing her excitement and pride in hosting such a meaningful competition. Her words created an atmosphere of anticipation and celebration, as she acknowledged the hard work of the participants and the significance of the event in promoting language skills and sustainability.

The participant teams truly set the stage on fire with their electrifying performances. A total of 10 teams competed, with five representing Event 1 and five from Event 2, each delivering captivating and dynamic presentations.

This was followed by an address from the Chief Guest, Mrs. Shradha Pandey, a renowned author, an educator with over three decades of experience. She congratulated the school on achieving such a significant milestone and commended the participants for their incredible performances, praising their talent and the hard work that went into making the event a resounding success.

One of the highlights of the event was the ‘Treasure Trove of Sustainability,’ a thoughtful compilation of performance glimpses from the entries received. This segment celebrated the efforts of all the participants, recognizing their talent and dedication.

Towards the conclusion of the event, the audience was addressed by the school Principal, Mr. Sanjay Yadav, who praised the confidence of all participants, stating that each one is a winner for their courage and eloquence on stage. He even acknowledged the hard work of the supporting staff, commending them for ensuring everything ran smoothly. The event was further graced by the presence of the Vice Principal, Mr. Puneet Duggal, and heads from different sections, whose appearance added to the significance of the occasion.

Before the winners were announced, a special surprise awaited everyone as students, along with their teachers, were invited to dance together in the auditorium. The entire hall came alive creating the most enjoyable and memorable moment for the students.

Winners were awarded Certificates and Trophies for their Outstanding, Excellent, and Praiseworthy performances. The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the hard work of the teachers, participants, and everyone involved in making the Recital Rumble a resounding success.
