Assembly by Class II-B (Buddha Purnima)
“Just as Buddha lit the world with wisdom and peace, a mother’s love makes all our worries cease.”
Buddha Purnima marks the birth, enlightenment and nirvana of Gautam Buddha, the great spiritual teacher who taught the world the path of peace, mindfulness and kindness and Mother’s Day celebrates the first teacher we all ever had — our mothers — whose love, patience, and sacrifices shape our lives every single day.
On 8th May 2025, students of class -II-B of Foundation Stage-II at Ahlcon International School celebrated a unique morning assembly that beautifully blended the spirit of Mother’s Day and Buddha Purnima. Under the inspiring guidance of Headmistress Ms. Pooja Shandilya and Class Teacher Ms. Vimmi Arora, the young Ahlconites presented a heartwarming and insightful array of performances.
Ahlconites began the assembly by taking Almighty’s blessings followed by Gayatri mantra. The assembly began with a thought that was truly heart-touching and a perfect blend of mindfulness and motherly love. On the special occasion of Buddha Purnima, young performers presented a short but meaningful performance titled “The Light of Lord Buddha” , where students thoughtfully highlighted Lord Buddha’s teachings of compassion, mindfulness, and peace. This was followed by a touching poem titled ‘My Mother, My Superstar’, capturing the unconditional love and selfless nature of mothers.
A humorous and emotional role-reversal skit, ‘माँ जैसी कोई नहीं, drew applause as children portrayed their mothers, showcasing their daily responsibilities. Students also presented a vibrant act displaying the different roles mothers play—chef, lawyer, artist, teacher, and more—acknowledging their versatility and strength. Miss Confident, Dhriti Aggarwal of class- II-C presented a spell bounding kathak performance.
The event concluded with a delightful dance performance, ‘Rhythmic Salute to Motherhood’, expressing gratitude through graceful movements. Each step, each beat, and each smile in the dance was a small thank you for the big things moms do every single day. The assembly left the audience with deep respect for both spiritual enlightenment and maternal love, making it a truly memorable celebration.
Finally, the assembly drew to a close with a heartfelt address by the esteemed Headmistress Foundation Stage, Ms. Pooja Shandilya. She beautifully highlighted the timeless values of compassion, selflessness, and inner peace—qualities that resonate both with the teachings of Lord Buddha and the unconditional love of mothers. Her words inspired everyone to embrace kindness and gratitude in their daily lives.
The class teacher and students of Class II-B would like to express their sincere gratitude to Headmistress, Ms. Pooja Shandilya for her motivating and thoughtful message. The assembly was conducted with grace and enthusiasm and the audience was truly moved by the students’ vibrant and meaningful performances.
