Jal Pakhwada Week
“Save water, Secure the future — Every Drop Counts”
Activity: Water Conservation
Water is one of the most essential natural resources required for the survival of all living beings. It plays a vital role in our daily lives. Despite its abundance, only a small portion of Earth’s water is fresh and suitable for human use. With the growing population, pollution, and climate change, water is becoming increasingly scarce. This makes water conservation not just important, but necessary.
Conserving water means using it wisely and avoiding waste to ensure its availability for future generations. Simple practices such as turning off taps when not in use, fixing leaks, using buckets instead of showers, harvesting rainwater, and reusing water for non-drinking purposes can make a significant difference.
In light of this, students of Foundation Stage at Ahlcon International School enthusiastically took part in a series of water conservation activities during Jal Pakhwada Week—a nationwide campaign organized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, observed from April 16th to 22nd, 2025. Through these activities, they spread awareness and explored practical ways in which water is wasted and conserved in daily life.
Through these engaging activities, students learned the value of water, the consequences of its misuse, and practical ways to conserve it, both at school and at home. They also enthusiastically shared their learnings with peers and family members, becoming young ambassadors of water conservation.
The activities helped students develop a sense of environmental responsibility and understand the importance of sustainable water use.
The Jal Pakhwada Week proved to be an enriching and eye-opening experience that instilled in young learners a lifelong respect for our planet’s most precious resource—water.
